KC BME Brochure: Connecting knowledge to create innovation
In accordance with planned activities, the Competence Center of Biomedical Engineering designed and developed a promotional brochure. The brochure is aimed at the promotion and development mission of the CC BME and briefly describes the research and development projects with a mixed sample of the knowledge and work of over 120 researchers of MINMED, SmartMed, PhysiCoDerm, SAMinZDRAV, TOF-PET, and the partners participating in the Competence Center.

More effective treatment of cancer
On Wednesday, 21 September 2011, in the newspaper MEDICINA DANES an article was published about achievements of two cofounders of CC BME, the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana and the Laboratory of Biocybernetics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering from University of Ljubljana, on the topic of introduction of electro chemotherapy into clinical practice.

It is necessary to build a country with a high-tech industry
On Monday, the 12th of September, 2011, an interview was published in the newspaper Dnevnik about the growth of the high-tech dental laser industry, which included the Competence Center of Biomedical Engineering. The interview described how to handle a rapidly growing business and the ever-changing market where cooperation between companies is highly important.

Logo CC BME designed
The Competence Center of Biomedical Engineering developed and designed the CC BME logo for the purpose of helping to establish a global map of Slovenia as an incubator of innovative companies to market the most exciting biomedical devices in the world. The logo was first used in the CC BME’s promotional brochure, followed by the CC BME website and the premises of the LAHA Institute, the organizer of activities connected with the CC BME.

1. Program board meeting completed
On Thursday, 14 July 2011, at the premises of Fotona d.d. Ljubljana, the first meeting of the Program Council of the Competence Center of Biomedical Engineering (CC BME) was held, attended by representatives of the CC BME’s partner organizations.
The centerpiece of the meeting was to consider the adoption of the Rules of the Program Board. The head of the CC BME, and its Supervisory Board, were appointed and unanimously approved by vote.
